Prison officers killed: Saint-Quentin-Fallavier prison blocked, reactions in Isère

Prison officers at the Saint-Quentin-Fallavier prison in Nord-Isère blocked their establishment this Wednesday morning and refused to take work, in support of their two colleagues killed during the attack on their van yesterday on a Normandy highway. A “dead day” is planned for today.

Reactions in Isère

Reactions are also multiplying in Isère. This tragedy could have been avoided, believes MP Caroline Abadie, who created a commission of inquiry into prison policy in France. “There was a flaw”she estimates, and we should perhaps ask ourselves the question of extractions and especially the number of these extractions, 120,000 per year in France.

Other Isère deputies provide their support to this profession and to the bereaved families, this is the case for example of the Republican Yannick Neuder or Elodie Jacquier-Laforge.

The RN deputy Alexis Jolly demands “an implacable response” on his X account.
