This Thursday, May 16, the Olympic torch relay route will visit the Aude department. Castelnaudary, Narbonne, Carcassonne… The emblematic places will be crossed.
Before reaching Paris on July 26 for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the flame stops in Aude. A department with a rich heritage, which absolutely should not be missed. The relay will pass through 7 municipalities.
Where and when ?
Here are the opening times: at the Château de Peyrepertuse, from 8:15 a.m. to 8:35 a.m.; in Narbonne, from 8:55 a.m. to 9:40 a.m.; in Lagrasse from 11:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.; in Limoux from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.; in Castelnaudary from 3:25 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.; in Gruissan from 4:40 p.m. to 5:10 p.m. and finally in Carcassonne from 6:00 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. where the cauldron will be lit. The two UNESCO World Heritage sites, namely the Canal du Midi and the Medieval City, will be highly valued. There will also be a collective relay of the Olympic Flame on a sail in Gruissan.
Who are the carriers?
Among the personalities who will carry the flame, we can find the famous singer Olivia Ruiz from Carcassonne but also the former rugby player who became a renowned winemaker in Languedoc: Gérard Bertrand. There will also be influencer Rose THR who has more than 4 million followers on TikTok and 1 million on Instagram.
Among the other torch bearers, the following are listed on the official Olympic website: Alexandre Marion, Laure Vallat-Lafargue, Octave Salans, Erika Ressuche, Damien Crambes, Océan Serny, Michela Rubegni, Estelle Gaspard, Hubert Beaubois, Noah Dudon.

What entertainment?
A giant screen, a host and a DJ will be present to put the public in the atmosphere of the Torch Relay! There will also be activities (sport, music, shows, etc.) organized by the communities.

After Aude, the Olympic flame will continue its detour in Haute-Garonne (May 17) in Gers (May 18) then in Hautes-Pyrénées (May 19).
