This speech is part of the continuity of the diplomatic efforts deployed by Morocco to strengthen its territorial integrity and assert its historical rights.
One of the highlights of the royal speech was the mention of the official recognition by the French Republic of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara. King Mohammed VI warmly thanked France and its President Emmanuel Macron for this clear and explicit support, which constitutes an important step in the resolution of this regional conflict. This recognition, coming from an influential country and permanent member of the UN Security Council, gives significant political weight to the Moroccan position on the international scene.

France’s recognition thus adds to the support already obtained from other world powers, notably the United States.
