It is a tradition like the Heritage Days in September, the Rendez-Vous au Jardin or the Music Festival. The 3e May weekend we celebrate Museum Night, an opportunity to see works of art at a time of day when museums are usually closed. And what’s more, they organize special events for that.

So what’s cool going on for 2024 in Touraine? We have made a selection for you.

Tours – Compagnonnage Museum:

In addition to free access to the collections all evening, there will be original performances such as a choreographed stroll by the NAO Company. Departures at 7 p.m., 8 p.m., 9 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Nawel Oulad’s Dance Company will offer the opportunity to discover the museum and its collections in a different way, through intimate choreographed strolls inspired by the world of travel and transmission.

Tours – Museum of Fine Arts:

It will also be open with free access all evening including two groups in concert between 8:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. First the experimental pop of Amande, a musician who makes “sensitive and atmospheric music, composed using sound objects and mysterious incantatory songs. » And then there will be Alice HA, folk from Nantes.

Amboise – Hôtel Morin Museum:

The place will be open free of charge from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Opportunity to discover the new tour route as well as the temporary exhibition. At 9 p.m., conference led by Mélanie Curdy, painting restorer, on her restoration of a painting by Poulbot, “Au bon picolo”, representing the setting of a play by Jehanne d’Orliac. This play, “Les Chiffonniers”, was performed in February 1914 at the Théâtre de la Renaissance. The decor, inspired by the Saint-Ouen area, was created by Poulbot, who offered this small painting to the author of the play.

Towers CCC OD:

Late night opening until 11 p.m. and “KISSMOGONY” performances by Vanasay Khamphommala, Cie. Slip of the tongue Chevelü

Savigny-en-Véron – Véron Museum:

The park opens from 7 p.m. for picnics. Museum accessible until 11 p.m. It’s free.

Loches – Lansyer Museum:

It opens free of charge from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. with, for the first time, the possibility of discovering the new graphic arts office. Throughout the evening, try your hand at the wash technique, widely used by Emmanuel Lansyer! Follow the explanations of the museum team and the student mediators on site, and leave with your creation.

Emmanuel Lansyer was as good a painter as he was a designer: it is this little-known facet of his work which is also at the heart of the event this year. Pencil, pen, wash… his works demonstrate the artist’s mastery of different drawing techniques.
