MONTREAL, May 14, 2024 /CNW/ – On the occasion of the final of the Charade Cup Seasonheld on May 6 at Club Soda, François-Étienne Paré received the Antidote Cup for his performances in the 2024 season. This distinction, sponsored by Druide Informatique, highlights the meritorious use of French in the exciting matches organized by the Theater of the Improvisation (LNI).

The Antidote Cup was established in tribute to Yvon Leduc, co-founder of the LNI and ardent defender of the French language who inspired generations of improvisers across the four corners of the French-speaking world. At the end of each , the player who made the best use of French deserves an Antidote star; the player having collected the most at the end of the season wins the cup. In 2024, François-Étienne Paré was named the Antidote star of the game in three of the six games in which he participated during the season.

This third Antidote Cup is added to the track record of François-Étienne Paré, who had already won it in 2017 and in 2013. Three times world champion and six times national improvisation champion, he has been artistic director of the Théâtre de la LNI since 2008. Performer in theater, cinema and television, François-Étienne Paré is in the cast of Mariathe first film for which comedian Mariana Mazza wrote the screenplay, and of the series The effect secondary. Also an animator, in 2001 he received a Gémeaux prize for his work at RDI Junior and is at the helm of the documentary series Risk factors.

The Théâtre de la LNI, which is both a laboratory and a flagship company of Quebec theater, is dedicated to research, creation and transmission in theatrical improvisation. In addition to his matches Charade Cup Season, its tours and other productions, the LNI offers, to schools and businesses, workshops, training and shows. Its activities affect nearly 50,000 people annually.

The LNI Theater benefit event will take place on May 22, with the third episode of the LNI VIP Evening – Clash of the Titans. During This match, legends of improvisation will compete for the greatest pleasure of the public. Tickets can still be purchased at lni.ca/titans.
