The Starbucks coffee chain will open a new branch in Quebec, with drive-thru service, in a Trudel Corporation building. The opening is scheduled for next July.

After a wave of restructuring in 2021, which led to the closure of several Starbucks locations in Quebec, as elsewhere in Canada, the chain is making a comeback in the national capital market, with the upcoming opening of a branch at 1950 , boulevard Wilfrid-Hamel.

“Starbucks chose this site for its particularly strategic and well-located location for our future customers due to its quick access to major roads and its proximity to the Duberger and Frontenac industrial parks. We are pleased to be able to offer the personalized experience and know-how of Starbucks to all travelers and workers in this sector,” said Loïc Lebrat, regional director of operations at Starbucks Canada.

The new building, which will house the chain, is located at the intersection of Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard and the Robert-Bourassa highway, and with quick access to the Félix-Leclerc highway. The construction of this 60,000 square foot, two-story building represents an investment of $20 million for Trudel Corporation.

In addition to Starbucks, the Tetra Tech firm, a world leader in consulting engineering, will also be located in the new building.

“Our Quebec office is our second largest place of business in Quebec. We have more than 400 employees on site and we want to offer them a unifying living space adapted to the new realities of work for optimal functioning of our teams,” underlined Pierre Girard, general director of building engineering at Tetra Tech in Quebec. .

“We are very pleased to be able to count on two new prestigious tenants in this new commercial and office building. These new business partners, including a second Starbucks franchisee in our real estate portfolio, consolidate our leadership position in the commercial real estate market in the greater Capitale-Nationale region and we are very proud of it,” said for his part William Trudel, founding president and CEO of Trudel Corporation.

The imminent move of these two tenants follows the arrival in 2023 of McDonald’s, Sushi Shop and Dignard Dental Hygienists in the neighboring commercial building, also owned by Trudel, at 2000 boulevard Wilfrid-Hamel.

Trudel Corporation, which is very active in the Quebec market, has the main objective of building a real estate portfolio of more than three billion dollars by 2030.
