According to the Air company, all passengers on the flight who went off the runway last Thursday at Aibd were taken care of with the establishment of a psychological and medical unit.

The air transport company Air Senegal has provided details on the treatment of passengers on flight Hc301 which left the runway last Thursday. In a press release, the company informs that “all passengers were taken care of on Thursday May 9 with the establishment of a psychological and medical unit. They were transferred and accommodated in hotels.

It is also underlined that “for their comfort and to enable them to meet their basic needs, an amount of 40 thousand CFA francs was instantly remitted out of the 150 thousand CFA francs that the Minister of Infrastructure and land and air transport instructed us to give. In addition, the air transport company specifies that “passengers who were picked up on the Dakar-Bamako flight on May 10 received the remainder of 110 thousand F Cfa in Bamako, from the hands” of their representative on site this Saturday, 11 May 2024. Regarding “passengers who have requested a postponement of their flight or reimbursement of their ticket”, they “will receive the remaining 110 thousand CFA francs at their convenience”.

Furthermore, the company Air Senegal states in its document that all “passengers have been taken care of and that it is fully collaborating with the competent authorities and thanks the Ministry of Infrastructure and Land and Air Transport for the support”. In the same vein, the company apologized to the passengers affected.

As a reminder, the worst came close to the Blaise Diagne International Airport in Diass (Aibd) on Thursday. In fact, the B737/300 type aircraft, chartered by Air Senegal from the company Transair, came to rest outside Threshold 19 of the runway. The incident occurred this Thursday, May 9, 2024, around 1 a.m. National airline flight Hc 301 to Bamako had 78 passengers on board. In total, this accident caused 11 injuries, including 4 serious injuries, including the pilot.
For the moment, there are 7 passengers still in Dakar, who did not make the trip because of “medical monitoring”. And the support is done at their expense after the end of that of the authorities this Saturday.
