Hauts-de-Seine: a lost wallet is left at the police station, the police make a chilling discovery

Nothing could have prepared the police for such a discovery. This Sunday, May 12, a woman presented herself at the Suresnes police station, in Hauts-de-Seine, after having found a lost wallet on Boulevard Henri Sellier.

As per procedure, the officers opened the small pouch to inspect the contents. Little did they know what they were going to find there…

“A severed knuckle and a fingernail

While they were taking inventory of the documents stored in the wallet, including a driving license, 150 euros, a bank card and a residence permit belonging to a man of around fifty years old, the police made a surreal discovery: a piece of a finger. “There was a severed knuckle and a fingernail“, specifies a police Source Parisian.

“In accordance with instructions received” according to this Source, the finger was “placed in a kraft envelope in the freezer“. Tests have confirmed that it is indeed a human phalanxwithout yet identifying the owner. “A DNA search will be carried out”, specifies the Source to our colleagues.

Law enforcement searching for owner of wallet

A procedure is initiated to find the owner of the wallet and identify the owner of the piece of finger found inside. Still according to Le Parisien, the residence permit found in the wallet allowed the police to go back to Villeneuve-la-Garenne, in Hauts-de-Seine. Unfortunately, the owner of this title was absent at the time of their visit. He would now live in Sarcelles (Val-d’Oise), with one of his friends. A new visit should probably be scheduled.

Terribly, this chilling discovery is not the only one to have taken place in the Paris region this weekend. Saturday May 11, firefighters from the 12th arrondissement of Paris discovered a dismembered body hidden in a suitcase near the Austerlitz Bridge. An investigation into intentional homicide was opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office. She was handed over to the criminal brigade.
