A methanization pit near his house? In Orne, a local resident rejected by the courts

The Caen administrative court rejected, at the end of April 2024, the request of a resident of Gouffern-en-Auge (Orne). The latter pointed out that a methanization storage pit from the company Beaulieu Méthanergie, from Argentan, was too close to her house, in Villebadin.

At the end of April 2024, the administrative court of Caen rejected the request of a resident of Villebadin – in the commune of Gouffern-en-Auge – in Orne, who had taken legal action against the company Beaulieu Méthanergie. Located in Goulet – commune of Monts-sur-Orne – a stone’s throw from the Argentan wastewater treatment plant and managed by the Couvé family (Maxime and Paul Couvé, their father Christophe and their uncle Philippe), Beaulieu Méthanergie submitted a file in 2018 to create a methanization installation allowing the treatment 60 tonnes of waste per day.
