Gault&Millau distinguished this Monday May 1313 restaurants in the region, on the occasion of the release of the 2024 edition of its famous gastronomic guide dedicated to the Occitanie region, including five in Hérault. These distinctions are obviously important for chefs, but also in terms of economic benefits and for gastronomic tourism. “Gault&Millau has always traveled the roads of France to discover the best restaurants, the most beautiful products, the best wines and the most beautiful addresses, with a single objective: to promote local gastronomy in the four corners of France. », Explains the yellow guide.

Which award-winning restaurants?

Here are the trophies that were awarded this year in Hérault :

  • Great of tomorrow: Stéphan Paroche and Justine Viano, La table de Castigno, in Assignan (34360)
  • Today’s tradition: Julien Bousquet, Pica-Pica, in Béziers (34500)
  • Sommelier: Matthieu Baas, Restaurant de Lauzun, in Pézenas (34120)

Gault&Millau was founded more than 50 years ago by two gastronomic critics, Henri Gault and Christian Millau, presented as the “founding fathers of nouvelle cuisine” and “spotters of young talent”. Today, the guide is present in 15 countries.
