Pro-Palestinian students decided to continue their occupation of the Uni Mail building on Sunday evening. And this, despite the ultimatum set at 8:00 p.m. by the rectorate of the University of Geneva, which asked them to leave the premises.

In support of the movement, a crowd gathered outside the main building of the academic institution. In fact, only members of the university community are now authorized to pass through the doors.

Members of the Student Coordination for Palestine-UNIGE (CEP-UNIGE) had until 8 p.m. to vacate the premises. Failing this, the University has assured that it wants to take the necessary measures. The alma mater had argued that “the security and well-being of its community” were no longer guaranteed.

Police officers are also on site and are currently observing the situation. The question now is to know what the reaction of the UNIGE management and the Geneva authorities will be.
