President of the Blouses Roses in Touraine for nine years, Elisabeth Chambon is at the head of the volunteers who work in the majority of hospital services as well as in retirement homes. “We are not caregivers. We take care…” she used to say.

Training first

The association is doing well, despite a drop in its membership: 120 today compared to 180 before Covid. “We are of public utility”, adds the president. And to take care of others, the Pink Blouses call on patronage to cover its activities and firstly the specific training of its volunteers. “When working in a healthcare environment, we have no room for error. There is know-how, but also know-how… We are never alone with a patient. We are here for a child, a teenager, an elderly person”. Situations are not always easy, especially with teenagers, but everyone copes, “accompanies”.

Elisabeth Chambon recalls that the Pink Blouses are also actors and partners of events, such as the Tours Marathon. And to continue to carry out all of its missions, the association needs to recruit.
