The Ministry of Tourism, Crafts, Social and Solidarity Economy confirmed on Wednesday that the Moroccan tourism sector continues its exceptional performance by welcoming 13.1 million tourists during the first nine months of 2024.
The ministry indicated, in a press release, that this remarkable performance represents an increase of approximately 2 million tourists compared to the same period last year, highlighting the growing dynamism of the Moroccan destination at the level of international tourism. .
She added that last September was exceptional, since Morocco welcomed 1.3 million tourists, an increase of 33 percent compared to the same month last year, noting that the number of foreign tourists increased by 40 percent.
The Minister of Tourism, Crafts, Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatima Zahraa Ammor, confirmed that “the tourism sector in Morocco is reaching record figures”, estimating that “thanks to the wise vision of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, the influence of our country is increasing.” at the international level. » “Continued efforts under the tourism roadmap are bearing fruit.”
She said the increase in the number of flights, promotional campaigns, infrastructure development and distinguished tourism experiences are contributing to this exceptional momentum.
She concluded: “This new number of tourists makes us proud and strengthens our determination to achieve our ambitious target of 26 million tourists by 2030.”
