The legendary trail event in Martinique was won on Saturday evening (May 11) by Vincent Janet. He covers the 103 km of the Ultra Tchimbé Raid course in 15h 11min and 8 seconds.

The Tchimbé Raid, the oldest trail event in Martinique, is an unmissable event for trailers from around the world.

The flagship event, the Tchimbé Raid Ultra Trail, offers a 103 km course with 5,500 meters of elevation gain, starting from Saint-Pierre to arrive at Schoelcher, including the ascent of Montagne Pelée at Morne-Rouge.

Vincent Janet brilliantly managed the varied and demanding challenges of this elite trail. Between dense forests, undergrowth, fields of sugar cane and bananas, with sometimes rocky terrain, he stood out among the 129 runners registered for this 25th edition.

Jordan Mionzé, winner of the previous event, had to abandon the race for health reasons, thus leaving the field open to Vincent Janet who won at Schoelcher.

I was really good, apart from the heat that I had to deal with at the start, just like the cramps at the 50th kilometer, I started to struggle from Bouliki (Saint-Joseph, Editor’s note) and during the Last 5 kilometers in stones.
