A few days ago, the contemporary works of Louise Le Pape lined the long concrete corridor of the Laye tunnel in Auderville (delegated municipality of La Hague, Manche), after a fifteen-day residency for this young visual artist which followed an invitation from the Aalcôve which composed a promotion association young artists.

Promote culture

Aalcôve is a young Norman association founded in April 2023 by Alexis Hardy, visual arts guide in Caen (Calvados), Alexandre Daull, visual artist in Sourdeval, and Virginie Levavasseur, visual artist based in La Hague.

Its mission is to support artists and promote culture through group exhibitions and residencies focused on ceramics and plastic research.

Spotted by the Aalcôve, Louise Le Pape is even the first resident of the Aalcove. She was welcomed into the workshop of Virginie Levavasseur at the 18 hamlet of Laye in Auderville. “An invitation to the heart of the Hague Geopark,” says Virginie Levavasseur.

By this immersion in this long concrete corridor that is the Laye tunnel, Louise Le Pape, a recent graduate of the Paris School of Fine Arts, has completely immersed herself in this inhabited space Winter by batsto create his research carried out during his residency there.

For the establishment of this residence, the Aalcôve benefited from the community supportthe Normandy Region and the Drac.

” With the program of residencies, Aalcôve wishes to offer time to artists, in a framework conducive to research and experimentation, to create a dialogue between the Normandy territories and to support artists in the dissemination of their work thanks to monitoring of projects on the long time. »
