Amazing! Switzerland and Nemo win Eurovision

Nemo did it! The artist from Biel won the 68th edition of Eurovision in Malmö on Saturday May 11. His performance was perfect. An original production, a unique voice, not to mention his charisma.

Switzerland last won the Song Contest in 1988 with Céline Dion. The song “The Code” ranked first among the jury, while the public vote was just enough for Nemo to remain ahead of Croatia (591 against 547 points). “I want to thank everyone and I hope that the competition will continue to convey a message of peace,” he said while lifting the trophy.

Nemo received an avalanche of twelve points during the jury vote. Here are the countries that gave us the highest rating: Ukraine, Luxembourg, Azerbaijan, San Marino, Malta, Albania, Denmark, Spain, Norway, Georgia, Greece, Estonia, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Finland, Portugal, Latvia, Ireland, Poland, Lithuania and Sweden.

Rhinestones and kitsch, if you want some, here it is. The Cypriot, Luxembourg and Georgian candidates all shone in their outfits. A quantity of flames were also spat out during the evening, for Germany, Ireland and Croatia. It was Eurovision as we like it, with its dose of funny moments, its gag artists – even in the final – and its few sublime voices. In short, a spectacle. With several favorites and therefore great suspense.

The 69th edition of Eurovision will therefore take place in Switzerland in 2025.
