“The secrets of Finistère” back on television: between sea and Breton legends…

A retired police officer, Morgane Le Dantec (Évelyne Bouix) has become a university professor, specializing in Breton myths and legends. One night, she wakes up with a start and draws a dead, drowned mermaid… But the next day, the lifeless body of Alice Leroy is found on a beach, in a mermaid costume, with a tattoo in old Breton on her arm. and which means “daughter of merman”… The victim had launched a mermaiding school, where people learn to swim like these mythological creatures. Commander Jérémy Laubier (Jérémy Banster) calls on his former colleague, Morgane, to shed light on the investigation. Who is tense after the report of a fishing boat drifting without its owner, but on which the DNA of the female mermaid was found… The fishermen of the region, angry, urge the gendarmes to find the missing person. If Jérémy seeks to rationalize his research and his investigation, he must quickly come to terms with Morgane’s “intuitions” and even recognize that she is often ahead of him…

Under the spell of Brittany

After a first episode of “Secrets of Finistère”, just a year ago (and rebroadcast this Saturday, May 11, at 9:10 p.m.) which launched the Bouix-Banister duo, here they are back, as always at the heart of the Brittany and its legends. “It’s not a series, rather a collection, with different investigations,” Évelyne Bouix confirms. She was Jérémy Banster’s partner in the first opus, but viewers criticized the plausibility of a septuagenarian cop, so she returned to service as an occult consultant, who speaks to spirits. “I loved the series “Medium”, with Patricia Arquette. I know that these are gifts that exist in certain families, that speaks to me,” analyzes the actress. The setting of the shoot captivated him. “I, who know Normandy well, fell under the spell of Brittany, its landscapes, its vegetation, its steep coasts. It is a very beautiful country, very photogenic, with a strong identity. I went there when I was little. And I really enjoyed filming in Concarneau (29) and on the port of Guilvinec (29) and its very contrasting elements, the sea is my element, it recharges me,” explains Évelyne Bouix.

Lelouch, theater and Pointe du Raz!

She who made herself known at the start of her career in the films of her ex-companion, Claude Lelouch, also played a lot in the theater – sometimes opposite her husband, Pierre Arditi, or in numerous TV films, from the series of “Cordier, judge and cop”, through the historical fictions “Maupassant”, or an episode of “Murders at Pointe du Raz” or “Captain Marleau”… An eclectic journey, where she is preparing a new project and is looking forward to returning to the stage soon. Like her character, Morgane, she only lives for the next challenge, very far from a hypothetical retirement!

“The Secrets of Finistère, the song of the sirens”. Saturday May 18 at 9:10 p.m. on France 3.
