Following a “personal accident” which occurred shortly before 2 p.m. this Friday, May 10, TER and TGV traffic was interrupted for part of the afternoon between Strasbourg and Sélestat, announced the SNCF. Traffic gradually resumed around 6:35 p.m.

Train traffic was interrupted this Friday, May 10 in both directions between Erstein and Sélestat (Bas-Rhin) for part of the afternoon. A personal accident that occurred shortly before 2 p.m. caused these disruptions, announced SNCF Grand Est. Delays and deletions occurred.

A person was hit at 1:47 p.m. by a train in Benfeld. The investigation was entrusted to the gendarmerie“, explained the railway company, without providing further details regarding the victim’s state of health.

Several trains are already experiencing numerous delays or are canceled. On arrival in Strasbourg, TER trains from Basel are scheduled 2 hours and 1 hour late, just like those from Nice which will arrive 1 hour late.

Departing from Strasbourg, the one heading to Nancy will leave 1 hour late. Several TER trains from Sélestat and Basel have also been canceled as well as those from Basel and Saverne from Strasbourg. The gradual resumption of traffic has been postponed several times, starting around 6:35 p.m. between Strasbourg and Sélestat, with delays to be expected.

The SNCF reminds that in the event of a personal accident, the resumption of rail traffic varies, depending on the geographical location of the accident and the response time.
