In Gap, the arthouse cinema Le Club en danger. This is what the club and center cinema spectators association denounces. In an open letter addressed to the mayor of Gap, Roger Didier, and to the president of the CJA (the cinema operator), the association is concerned about the future of the two theaters which will close in mid-June as part of the municipal urban renovation project for the printing house square. From 2023, there was talk that the Le Center cinema would temporarily move to the former Usine Badin and that the arthouse cinema Le Club would move for a dozen screenings per week to the Cinémathèque de montagne. “ We have no confirmation at this time » indicates the association of cinema spectators, the club and the center. The president of the CJA announced that the two rooms could alternately share the Badin factory, which would reduce the number of weekly sessions by two. 28 screenings instead of 56. Bernard Gégroire, member of the spectators’ association, denounces a bad blow to local culture, especially since the two theaters have diverse programming.
