Representing Switzerland at Eurovision 2024, Nemo qualified this Thursday evening during the second semi-final in Malmö (Sweden). The singer from Bienne ranked eighth out of the ten countries qualified in this second semi-final, in a lower place than that predicted by the forecasters.

This qualification is not a surprise, since for weeks, Nemo’s song “The Code” has been at the top of the predictions, with the potential to win this Saturday in Sweden during the final.

Israel, whose participation in the Eurovision song contest is criticized, also qualified on Thursday. “Hurricane”, the Israeli title was performed without a hitch or interruption by Eden Golan in front of the 9,000 people at the Malmö Arena, exhilarated by the competition.

Earlier in the day, nearly 12,000 people demonstrated in the host city against Israel’s participation in the competition, expressing outrage at the war in Gaza.
