Having come to encourage their niece Julie, Francine Clément and Daniel Charbonneau are impatiently waiting for her not far from the finish line. “She doesn’t know we’re there, it’s a surprise,” they confide. This is Julie’s very first half marathon; she took up running just a year ago, they specify.

Corinne Beaudoin and Frédéric Delisle, 44 and 47 years old respectively, fell into each other’s arms as soon as they crossed the finish line. The two friends say they often train very early in the morning, from 5:30 a.m., before their children are up. They share their time, encourage each other and sometimes go running together. “Our spouses do not follow us in our follies! », jokes Corinne, who was running a half marathon for the third time with Frédéric.
