For the third year, theHôtel de Ville opens its doors to Parisians. For one day, on Saturday October 12, the public will be able to enter the building free of charge, discover its backstage and take part in activities.
The Hôtel de Ville, the beating heart of Paris
It is a jewel of Parisian architecture completed in 1882 ! With his Renaissance style facade et son emplacement hyper central, l’Paris City Hall is also an emblematic site of the political and institutional life of the capital. It is in this building that all the major decisions that concern Paris and the lives of its inhabitants are taken by the mayor and the municipal team. Curious to see behind the scenes? This Saturday, this place of power opens its doors wide to visitors wishing to discover behind the scenes and its history. On this occasion, a program of activities, events and meetings are offered to all audiences!
An open day to discover the backstage of the institution
Once a year, the city of Paris allows the public and Parisians in particular to enter the grounds of the City Hall and take ownership of this essential place in their daily lives. After the success of the first visits, Anne Hidalgo and her team are renewing this open day this Saturday !
For this third edition, several spaces will be accessible to visitorsfrom the courtyards of the Town Hall, passing through the Council Library to the majestic Festival Hall ! Throughout your journey you will be able to enjoyactivities to understand how the city of Paris works. Of the meetings with the municipal team and forums will also take place on subjects linked to daily life (employment, solidarity, culture, local and sustainable consumption, etc.). The winners of the 2024 Participatory Budget will also be revealed in the afternoon!
And the program doesn’t stop there! In the inner courtyards of potting workshops, pancake and waffle tastings as well as a tavern will also be organized. Children will be able to enjoy activities in the Salon Chéret. Finally on the Parvis: distribution of dahlias, tastings of Parisculteurs products, games for children and the Great Sale of the Paris 2024 Games!
