A restaurateur from Kamouraska, in Bas-Saint-Laurent, had her vehicle stolen while she was passing through Montreal. Thanks to a post on Facebook and the help of restorers, she managed to recover it almost 36 hours later.

“Social networks and the restaurant community […]so all our friends, mobilized to find the vehicle and it worked,” Perle Morency, owner of the Côté Est restaurant, told LCN.

The person who found the SUV, owner of a food business, even ran to try to catch the thief, according to Mme Morency.

“That’s how I was able to get my vehicle back.”

An action that should not be done, she clarified.

The solidarity of her community is what marked her the most in this story.

For the woman, it is a “strong symbol” that represents her relationship with them, as a member of the Round Table.

The vehicle’s windows were smashed and the geolocation system was disabled.

Mme Morency, however, has a video of the thieves and an investigation will take place, according to her.

The SUV is still in Montreal and will be towed in the coming days.
