A 26-year-old Sigolénois airlifted following a fall while mountain biking

around 4 p.m., walkers alerted the emergency services after discovering an injured mountain biker in a wood in Sainte-Sigolène. Aged 26, he had just fallen while walking on a steep path at a place called “Le Suc”. Disoriented and suffering from back and leg pain, the Sigolénois was taken care of by thirteen firefighters from Sainte-Sigolène, Monistrol-sur-, Velay-Semène and Yssingeaux. It was then conditioned for hoisting by the SMPM (Rescue in perilous and mountain environments) teams from Puy-en-Velay, before being transported to the Saint-Étienne University Hospital by the Puy civil security helicopter. -de-Dôme.

A 46-year-old woman victim of a quad accident

Around 5 p.m., a 46-year-old woman was slightly injured in an accident in the forest. She and her group, coming from the Rhône and Ain, were enjoying a quad ride in the Yssingelaise forest. They were heading back towards Saint-Jeures via the Suc d’Achon when the accident happened. “She slipped in a puddle and ended up in an embankment,” summarizes one of the participants. With a team from the SMPM, the twelve firefighters sent to the scene were able to evacuate him using a wheeled stretcher.
