Two friendly matches will be played by the Senegal women’s team during the next FIFA date (May 27 – June 4). Indeed, Mame Moussa Cissé’s players will face the South Africans, who are the reigning African champions, in a double friendly match at the Lat-Dior stadium in Thiés.

After being eliminated in the quarter-finals of the women’s African Cup of Nations (CAN) in 2022, Senegal aspires to do better in the next edition. Safi Sagna’s band will face an important test, as they will meet the trophy holders Banyana-Banyana on Friday May 31 for the first friendly match, at the Lat-Dior stadium in Thiès.

The second friendly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday June 4, still at the Lat-Dior stadium in Thiés. South Africa, a major rival which will allow the Lionesses to further prepare for the CAN, even if until now, the date of holding this edition has not yet been determined.

It is worth remembering that during the 2023 Women’s World Cup, South Africa reached the round of 16 before being eliminated by the Netherlands.
