In Valréas, in Vaucluse (Enclave of the Popes), a bettor won the handsome sum of 158,708 euros playing Quinté + on May 2. He validated his ticket in the Le Berteuil newsagent, located on the Cours du Berteuil.

He thus becomes a “big winner” PMU (Paris Mutuels Urbaines) since he won a sum exceeding 100,000 euros. Currently and since the start of 2024, there are 66 “big winners” and this is the first in Vaucluse.

Olivier Tudury, owner of the establishment where the winning bet was made, told PMU: “This is the first time such a big win has been won since I took over the business last December. This is fantastic news! So far, the winner hasn’t come forward, but whoever it is, I’m very happy for that person. The amount won is at the heart of all the discussions at the moment, it adds excitement. We can only hope that other gains will be won by my customers. »

In 2023, no gain greater than 100,000 euros has been won in Vaucluse at PMU. The last win dates back to February 2022, where a punter from Courthézon won the tidy sum of 318,664 euros.

In Vaucluse, there are currently 134 PMU points of sale, which allow betting on horse races.
