Who says Coupe des Landes final, says Focus!

The Landes Football District presents you with a cross-interview before the final of the Coupe des Landes, which will pit Stade Montois against Etoile Sportive Montoise.

70 years ago, Stade Montois won its first Coupe des Landes. Since then, the successes have multiplied, and the yellow and black team now has twelve in their trophy cabinet. Etoile Montoise does not tremble in the face of this list of achievements. Winners on a single occasion, the Stellites will give everything to bring home a second.

A few hours before kick-off, the two childhood friends, today captains of the two teams, Yannick SOUBIEILLE (Stade Montois) and Lucas ARRIUBERGE (Etoile Sportive Montoise) spoke to the microphone of the Landes de Football District. Interview.

Was being in the final a goal for you at the start of the season?

Yannick Soubieille: “Yes of course, the managers announced it to us at the start of the season. What’s more, for the 90 years and the match at Boni, it couldn’t be otherwise. Stade Montois had to be present. Afterwards, for us, the players, each round remained a match to play and win. »

Lucas Arriuberge: “Like every season the objective was to go as far as possible in the Coupe des Landes, but it is true that this year the final in Boni added additional motivation. »

How are you approaching this final which is a Mont-de-Marsan derby?

YS: “We approach this match with enthusiasm, great determination and the desire to win this match.
More than a derby, it is above all an opportunity to meet up with former Stadistes, because at Etoile, as in many clubs, there are a lot of players who have passed through us. »

THERE : “We are not in the best shape to approach this final with 4 consecutive defeats in the championship.
We know that the Coupe des Landes is a very different competition, where motivation is found before each match, especially for a final against Stade Montois.
We are not starting favorites because of the two divisions, but we know that in a match, anything is possible. »

What does this competition represent for you and what’s more playing the final in the André and Guy Boniface stadium?

YS: “At the department level, the Coupe des Landes is a competition that generates enthusiasm. We can see it every year during the finals at the Argenté, the attendance is incredible. This year the relocation to Boni will be a first. Playing in this venue is something unusual and quite improbable for Landes football players. »

THERE : “The “Landes World Cup” is a competition which generates great enthusiasm in Landes football, I am not sure that in neighboring departments the interest in the departmental cup is so strong. Personally, there is always an atmosphere, a special excitement before a cup match.
The final in the André and Guy Boniface stadium makes this final unique, it will surely be our only opportunity to set foot on this pitch and play in such an environment, so we will have to make the most of it, hoping that the party will be great. »

Finally, the ritual question in this Focus, do you have a message to convey to your teammates as well as to your supporters?

YS: “I would like to thank the people who followed and supported us this season at l’Argenté and on the road, and who have done so for many years. I would also like to spare a thought for all the club volunteers who work daily for us and all the club teams. Special mention to José Pascual, our steward for several years, who does incredible work and gives his time generously to put us in the best possible condition. »

THERE : “The motivation has been felt for a while within the group, I don’t have a particular message to motivate them more than they already are. I have confidence in everyone to put out a big match.
For our supporters, I hope they will be even more numerous and noisy than in the semi-final. BLACK AND WHITE HURRICANE »
