As many times since the start of the year, and in particular in March and April, the prefectures of Haut-Rhin and Bas-Rhin have drafted a joint press release to prohibit gatherings of the type “rave party”.

Potential disturbances to public order

In this text, the authorities specify that an unauthorized musical gathering is likely to be organized in one of the two departments and that to date, no statement prior notice has not been filed.

The prefects justify the ban decision by “risks of disturbance to public order and public tranquility presented by holding such a gathering.

The prefectural decision started on Tuesday May 7, 2024 at 6 p.m. and ends on Monday May 13, 2024 at 8 a.m.

Furthermore, the transport of equipment of sound system or amplification likely to be used for a “rave party” is also prohibited on the territory of the two departments throughout the weekend.

As a reminder, rave parties are parties organized in unusual places, such as deserted or abandoned areas where fans of electronic music meet.
