Three days to discover the Indre by pedaling

The meetings have continued in recent weeks in Argenton-sur-Creuse and, each time, the participants have shown enormous motivation. Like the mountain of administrative formalities and the creation of multiple routes, these laborious meetings were devoted to the organization of the National Cyclotourist Concentration, managed by the cycle-walkers of the Secular Cultural Circle.

A major challenge for a club of around a hundred licensees which called on members of the eight other sections of this association of 255 members, but also on numerous partners from the sports sector and communities for the success of an event lighthouse, scheduled from May 9 to 11 from Venice du Berry.

The organizers expect 400 participants

The event, classified by the French Cycling Federation just after the International Federal Week which will take place from July 20 to 28 in Roanne (Loire), is broken down into three stages.

The different routes will be punctuated with breaks and refreshments.

It travels in turn through three territories of Indre: Brenne, the Black Valley, and the Painters’ Valley. If cycling will be the only means of transport, eight road, gravel, mountain bike and discovery cycle routes, ranging from 20 to 140 kilometers are offered every day.

An à la carte offer, available from the Argenton-sur-Creuse village hall, supplemented by walking tours, to allow those accompanying you to immerse themselves in the local natural and heritage riches.

Greenways and impressionist painters

The organizers, who are expecting nearly four hundred participants, coming from all over France and even abroad, have lured them by highlighting the city, the tranquility and the appeal of this capital, the greenways, small lightly traveled roads, a bocage landscape, and the uniqueness of the Land of a Thousand Ponds, visited on the first day.

They also cited George Sand, the impressionist painters, or the filmmaker Jacques Tati, who contributed to enhancing the image of different sites.

The event was preceded by numerous meetings.

” The film Celebration day will also be screened Thursday evening at the Eden-Palace cinema, with comments from the mayor of Sainte-Sévère, François Daugeron”, specifies Bernadette Jouhaud, the president of the Cercle laïque culturelle, who has also planned for the following two days a stargazing, supervised by the astronomy section of the CLC, and an aperitif dinner.

The presence of the president of the FFCT

The arrival of four leaders of the FFCT, including its president Martine Cano, will give additional weight to a carefully prepared event, with three parking places for motorhomes, and an appeal to Argentonian traders, so that they are able to to refuel this pedaling cohort, invited to savor the delights of a department at the forefront nationally in obtaining the Territoire Vélo label.
