Dakar, May 6 (APS) – AS Douanes relaunched in the Sahara Conference of the African Basketball League, dominating (76-59) US Monastir (Tunisia) during the second day at the Dakar Arena in Diamniadio .
Beaten from the start on Saturday by the Nigerian champions, Rivers Hoopers, the gabelous pulled out all the stops on Sunday.
In front of their home crowd, the Senegal champions won thanks to their good defense. The protégés of the Senegalese technician, Mamadou Guèye ”Pa Bi” prevented the Tunisians from scoring.
Led by the Nigerian Harouna (35 points), the unfortunate finalists of the last BAL season easily won the match with a 17-point difference (76-59). With this victory, AS Douanes takes second place in the Sahara Conference. On Tuesday, the gabelous will do battle with the Patriotic Army of Rwanda (APR).
The Rwandans recorded a victory against US Monastir and a defeat against Rivers Hoopers. The Nigerians occupy first place in the tournament with two victories in as many outings.
