“A real yes, an exuberant yes! »: Renaud married Cerise at the 14th century town hall in Paris

He had hinted last February: “madly in love” with his new partner, whom he nicknamed “Cerise”, Renaud would soon marry her. This has been done since this Saturday, during a ceremony which took place around noon in the town hall of the 14th arrondissement. The third marriage for the 71-year-old artist (he will celebrate his 72nd birthday next Saturday). He was previously married to Dominique Quilichini, from 1980 to 1999, with whom he had a daughter, Lolita, before marrying Romane Serda in 2005, having a son with her, Malone, then divorcing in 2011.

Renaud and Christine, alias Cerise (because of the earrings she wore the first time they met), a clothing and accessories designer about twenty years his junior, met in 2017 on a TV set. But the singer only made their relationship official last year. To accompany them during their wedding on this rainy Saturday, many artists came such as the singers Bénabar, Vianney and Dave, the actors Jean-Paul Rouve and Philippe Lellouche, the comedians Laurent Baffie and Christophe Alévêque, and also the emergency physician Patrick Pelloux, among others…

It was the elected official on call this weekend at the 14th century town hall, deputy mayor Hélène Mermberg, who united the two lovers. Having been warned a few days ago that she would be in charge of this event, she prepared well, she admits: “I listened to a few songs again beforehand, looking in the lyrics for what could be adapted to a wedding speech. As Renaud arrived early for his wedding, I went to see him and asked him if he wanted me to personalize the ceremony a little, which he accepted. »

With humor, she thus addressed the artist in her speech, telling him that he had chosen the 14th arrondissement to marry, he “the separatist and the autonomist of the Porte d’Orléans”, a tasty reference to his song “Le Blues de La porte d’Orléans”. Another nod, this time in particular to the extremely famous “Mistral Gagnant”, speaking of “the love that heals wounds and the love that keeps you warm when there are two of you on the path”.

Another confidence from the elected official: “Renaud said a real yes at the time of consent, an exuberant yes! » “It was very joyful, very warm, and there were crazy people,” rejoices Hélène Mermberg.

“They were a very pretty couple, and they were very elegant, she in her wedding dress (and with cherry-shaped earrings)and him with a red flower in his buttonhole,” adds a people specialist who was watching outside the town hall.
