A driver born in 1975 died after being hit by his own vehicle in Petit-Saconnex on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred on Chemin des Crêts around 1:15 p.m., indicates Alexandre Brahier, spokesperson for the cantonal police.

The father had just parked to go to a nearby park. “That’s where the tragedy happened,” says the communicator. For reasons that the investigation will have to determine, the car started moving on its own down the slope towards the Bouchet crossroads, and gained a certain speed.

According to initial information, the driver tried to hold his vehicle back by moving in front, but after 60 meters, exhausted, he went under it. “He died on the spot, despite the intervention of emergency services,” continues Alexandre Brahier. A psychological unit has been set up. The path was completely closed to traffic. The police audiovisual and accident group was mobilized to carry out records for the purposes of the investigations. This is the fourth death to occur on Geneva roads in 2024.
