This large-scale operation which took place on Monday April 29 in the early evening at the so-called Croix d’Aspouze camp is part of the “Place Net” operations, carried out in particular this departure to combat drug trafficking. .

As part of an investigation carried out for several months under the direction of the Nîmes public prosecutor’s office, 170 gendarmes (mostly from the Vauvert company) supported by a squadron of mobile gendarmes, dog crews and a helicopter, carried out Monday April 29 in the evening at the arrest of 10 people suspected of being involved in trafficking cocaine and cannabis resin, in the area known as the Croix d’Aspouze camp, in the town of Milhaud.

96 hours of police custody

During the operation, narcotics packaged for resale as well as weapons including a shotgun were discovered during searches.

Placed in police custody for 96 hours, seven of these ten individuals were presented to an investigating judge and indicted for “transport, acquisition, possession, supply and transfer of narcotics and possession of weapons”, before being imprisoned.

Three others were released under judicial supervision.
