The Tokyo restaurant, located at the Polygone in Béziers, was closed by administrative decision for serious hygiene violations. It will be able to reopen when work has been carried out.

The Tokyo restaurant, located on the Polygone terrace in Béziers, has just been closed by prefectural decision. Serious breaches of health and safety rules were noted by agents of the departmental population protection directorate (DDPP).

Lack of maintenance of premises

In their report, the agents point out the lack of maintenance of the premises and equipment, but also that the maintenance and tidying of the premises is very insufficient. There would also be a lack of a hand washing station to ensure hygienic handling. During their inspection, they also noted that the cold room was unsuitable for the restaurant’s activity and finally that pigeons were entering the smoking area.

Serious breaches

“Due to the seriousness of these shortcomings and because of the risk to the health of consumers, the prefect of Hérault has taken the decision to close the establishment. He will be able to reopen its doors only when the establishment meets the standards in force.” This after a new check by state agents. While waiting for its reopening, employees are working to clean what needs to be cleaned.
