Roubaix: the comics and graphic arts festival returns this weekend

Drawing in almost all its forms. On the occasion of the new edition of the Roubaix comics festival, the Watremez room once again welcomes a large number of authors and professionals in comics and graphic arts. Known for its times of exchange between artists and visitors, this year the festival welcomes twenty-four authors*, fourteen fanzines, two publishing houses, four associations, the Piktura animation school and two bookstores .

Among these two businesses, the Combo Bookstore in Roubaix will participate in the event. Present at each edition since its creation in 2021, the brand will have a stand on which it will welcome several of the artists for their signing session. “ We are proud to see that comics are still so successful and also to be able to participate in the show every year since our creation. It’s a great cultural event for all fans », explains Ismail Said-Mohamed, store manager.

A prize for beginning authors

Eleven of the authors present are also in the running for the Young Author prize, a distinction from the festival which rewards each year an author starting his career, having published three albums maximum. The winner will be announced Saturday morning at the opening of the event and will be present like the other candidates for meetings and signings throughout the weekend. The salon will be open free of charge this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
