As part of the 4e edition of “May by bike”, events are organized throughout France during the month of May to promote cycling. Here is a selection (non-exhaustive) of the activities planned in the territory of Grand Châtellerault (free, unless otherwise stated).

> Exhibition and sale of vintage bicycles. Sale of vintage bikes by the Spring and exhibition of old bikes by the Épopée Sutter association. Saturday May 4 (2 p.m.-6 p.m.) at the La Galerie du réemploi recycling center in Naintré.

> Technical inspection for my bike. The Vélibleu mechanics will tell you the general condition of your bike and tell you which parts need to be repaired or maintained. Tuesdays May 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vélibleu agency at Châtellerault station.

> Cycling and highway code for children. A track, plots, signs to introduce children aged 3 to 6 to the highway code and cycling. Wednesday May 15 (2 p.m.-4 p.m.) at Manu and Wednesday May 29 (2 p.m.-4 p.m.) in front of town hall.

> Show. Cyclo’loko, by the company Monde à part, on the occasion of the European Night of Museums. Saturday May 18 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. in front of the Vilmouth Towers at the Manu.

> Film debate. Screening of the film Why we cycle then discussions on the mobility of tomorrow. Thursday May 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 400 Coups (usual cinema prices).

> Young people, cycling and the highway code. By the City and the Mwheel Mobility company. Test the electric scooter simulator (from 16 years old) or try the dedicated circuit (from 10 years old). Wednesday May 22 at the Blossac exchange area.

> Bike festival. By the A Vélo Châtellerault association. Rides, cargo bike demonstrations, screenings of short films, mini-conferences, self-repair workshops, children’s trails… Sunday May 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Place Ferdinand-Buisson. Information on a-velo-chatellerault.org

> Self-repair workshops. The Naintré recycling center teaches you how to maintain your bike. On the Scorbé-Clairvaux market Tuesday May 28 (8 a.m.-1 p.m.), on the Colombiers market Wednesday May 29 (11 a.m.-1 p.m.), on the Cenon market Thursday May 30 (8 a.m.-1 p.m.) and at the Naintré Reuse Gallery Saturday 1er June (10 a.m.-6 p.m.).
