On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of France Bleu Sud Lorraine, a look back at the significant events covered by the radio. Return to 2006 where the ASNL won the League Cup after an impressive journey and a thrilling final.

This remains one of the two trophies won by the ASNL in its history. On April 22 at the Stade de France, Nancy won 2-1 against Nice in the final in front of nearly 77,000 supporters, including 40,000 from Nancy.

Return to this beautiful page in the history of the club, starting with the almost flawless performance of Nancy, the madness of the final, despite an expulsion, the joy and celebration then at Place Stanislas.

“It was crazy,” remembers Pablo Correa, coach at the time, who remembers discovering the atmosphere when he arrived at the Stade de France. “We wanted to protect the players so that they didn’t play the final before, but we had echoes. Hundreds of buses following each other on the highway, whole trains of supporters. My wife, who was on a bus with the players’ relatives, called me to tell me that she had never seen that.”

From the final, the Nancy coach retained the expulsion of Puygrenier, who could have turned the match on its head, but these men knew how to hold on “it was our DNA to overstep the mark!”. The Uruguayan technician also retains Place Stanislas, the day after the victory, the crowd and yet the feeling of “being at home”.
