At the entrance to the Chesnoy area, in Amilly, two establishments will be built in the course of 2024. The first to open will be a Volfoni restaurant in August.

It is an understatement to say that there is great impatience since the announcement, in March 2024, of the arrival in the Chesnoy area, in Amilly, of two new restaurants: Volfoni and above all, KFC, the famous specialized American brand in fried chicken.

An impatience which has grown a little more since the start of construction work on a building, near the entrance to the Chesnoy area, near the D2007 roundabout. A project which is progressing quickly, the installation of the cladding being in progress.

A project from the managers of “Au bureau”

But this 450 square meter building is not the future KFC restaurant. “There were so many debates on social networks that we put up a sign to indicate that this is the future Volfoni restaurant,” explains Mickaël Leboeuf, future manager of the establishment with his partner, Fyona De Almeida.
The couple already runs another restaurant, “Au bureau”, in the nearby Antibes area.

Volfoni, as its name suggests, will specialize in Italian cuisine and should open on August 21, specify Mickaël Leboeuf and Fyona de Almeida, who are counting on the creation of twenty-five jobs for a restaurant with a capacity of 164 indoor and 60 outdoor seats.

KFC: work expected to begin in June 2024

The KFC project is also still very much alive, as confirmed by the posting of the building permit on the plot next to that of the future Italian restaurant.

As indicated by Gian Marco Amendola, the future manager, the work should begin in June, once the building permit has been cleared of any recourse, for an opening at the end of November or the beginning of December. “Without taking into account the possible hazards, obviously”, further specifies this catering professional, who already manages, among others, the restaurants under the KFC brand in Bourges (Cher) and Sens (Yonne), a Volfoni restaurant and the Léon Fish Brasserie of Bourges. The future Amillois establishment will have a total surface area of ​​286 square meters (92 seats indoors and around fifty outdoors).

The challenge of the massive influx of the first days

Gian Marco Amendola knows the excitement generated by the opening of KFCs throughout the country. A satisfaction obviously, but also an additional challenge, each time: that of coping with the sometimes very large influx during the first days and weeks of opening.
Initially, the establishment should therefore, according to the manager’s estimates, employ around fifty people.
You will therefore have to wait around six more months to enter the doors of this highly anticipated restaurant. The most impatient will be able to delight in the flavors of Italian gastronomy this summer.
