It has become a little ritual Colmar. The October 1for the launch of Pink October, a month during which many events to fight against breast cancer are organized, the Statue of Liberty in Colmar wears a little costume.

Accompanied by several associations, including the section of Haut-Rhin of the league against cancer, the mayor of Colmar Éric Straumann inaugurated the pink scarf affixed to the statue which reproduces identically the version new-yorkaise.

Activities throughout the month

In addition to this symbolic gesture, numerous actions to support the fight against breast cancer will be held throughout the month in Colmar.

For example, a charity evening will be organized at Rota Club of Colmar, on October 18 from 11 p.m. by agents of the gynecology-senology-plasty department of Hospitals Civilians of Colmar.

On October 6, the club SR Colmar hosts three home games. You will be able to see these three matches for 5 euros, which will be donated to the wrestling associations.

In France, breast cancer affects more than 900,000 people and more than 60,000 new cases are detected every year, according to the League Against Cancer.
