“We must prioritize projects and sequencing is planned,” said the director of the transport and intelligent mobility department of the City of Quebec, Marc Des Rivières. “If we had delayed certain projects on the City side, we were going to delay several projects over several years.”

Motorists will need to be patient and above all avoid hot spots.

“We will have to be patient and respect the limits,” recalled the director of projects in the National Capital at the MTQ, Mélanie Filion. “We will have to be patient and things will go well.”

The major projects this summer are: the redevelopment of the northern bridge interchanges, the reconstruction of the Félix-Leclerc overpasses at Masson Boulevard and the widening of Highway 20 in Lévis.

“It’s a network that arrives at a time when everything happens at the same time,” warned Guy Lavoie, director of projects for Chaudière-Appalaches at MTMD. “We’re trying to stretch the sauce. But if we stretch too much, we have to close and that’s not any better.”

A new construction site will see the light of day on the Laurentian highway at de la Faune, for the reconstruction of the viaduct.

Moreover, the Quebec Bridge will be closed to all traffic during the weekend, for a second consecutive weekend.
