An impressive side impact, fortunately not serious, occurred this Thursday, May 2, 2024 on the M57 road linking Les Sorinières to Bignon, south of Nantes (Loire-Atlantique).

The circumstances of the collision, on this small road called Basses-Bouteilles, at the intersection with rue de Chez-Gatin in Sorinières, are still uncertain. When firefighters arrived shortly after 3:30 p.m., a company car was buried under a Fedex delivery truck.

Minor injuries

The driver was trapped in the passenger compartment when firefighters arrived. They took him out of there with what were described as “light” injuries. The 49-year-old driver was taken to the Nantes University Hospital by the Vertou firefighters for examinations.

The driver of the heavy goods vehicle, aged 59 according to firefighters, was unhurt. He was left there after a medical assessment by the firefighters with the Samu on the phone. The accident mobilized around ten firefighters aboard five engines, the gendarmerie, and the city’s roads manager.
