The association of rural mayors of the department, at a national conference in Côte-d’Or this weekend, met two new ministers from the Barnier government.

This weekend, the delegation from the association of rural mayors of Gard (AMRF 30) (Sylvain André, mayor of Cendras; Guy Manifacier, mayor of Saint-Sébastien d’Aigrefeuille and Patrick Dumas, mayor of Rochegude) represented the elected representatives of the department at the national congress of the association of rural mayors of which was held in Saint-Julien-et-Arceau (Côte-d’Or). A congress which notably welcomed Françoise Gatel and Catherine Vautrin, new ministers of Rurality and Partnership with the territories.

Beyond the displayed attachment of the new ministers to rural communities, “whose issues they seem to know well”the AMRF 30 says it is waiting “strong acts” towards them, recalling the non-responsibility of municipalities in the problems of the public deficit. “The AMRF is also calling for the repeal of the compulsory transfer of water and sanitation competence to the intermunicipality and wants the choice to fall to the mayors, continue the Gard elected officials. The association intends to maintain pressure on the State at this time. which concerns health issues and territorial balance.”
