City of Quebec: $236,000 awarded to an organization to collect dirty syringes

The City of Quebec grants a three-year mandate to the organization Point dereres to collect dirty syringes in parks and public spaces.

The $236,000 contract began on April 1, 2024 and will continue until December 31, 2026. Point dereferences will offer “services for the recovery of used syringes in parks and public spaces on the territory of Quebec City “.

Over the years, the City of Quebec has often done business with the organization for collection chores, tours of downtown parks, awareness activities and training. She formalizes a three-year contract with this mandate.

Surveillance will be carried out in around fifty parks in three sectors of the city: lower town, upper town and Limoilou.

The contract was approved Wednesday by the city’s executive committee.
