The Anti-Waste law, published in February 2020, came into force on 1er January 2024, stipulating the obligation for all communities to put in place solutions for sorting bio-waste at the Source for residents. The voluntary municipality was supported in this approach by Syvalorm (household waste recovery union) and Athena, an environmental education association in Loir-et-Chérien, in charge of running the sites.

The matured compost will be distributed

A first collective composting zone was set up in the Bellevue city. “We carried out a door-to-door operation with 77 residents to identify interested people. 25 households responded positively » explains Sandie Rouault, environmental educator. The second, Allée Claude-Monet, was inaugurated in the presence of Françoise Lelong, departmental councilor, Michel Odeau, president of Syvalorm, and the mayor, accompanied by elected officials and a dozen residents. “Of the 56 households contacted, 32 responded favorably. »

A bio-bucket for everyone

The installation consists of two tanks: a supply tank and one for crushed material, provided by the town hall. Residents received a bio-bucket to deposit their food waste and thus significantly reduce the volume of their trash. The matured compost will then be distributed and can be used for gardens, potted plants or for the community’s green spaces.
