First tested in Occitanie, the first hybrid regional train, the project of which was launched in 2018 by the SNCF Group and Alstom, has been tested in New Aquitaine since April 16 and until June 30. This innovative tri-mode electric-thermal-battery train is currently running on the Bordeaux – La Rochelle and La Rochelle – Poitiers lines, via Niort. This experiment should enable a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. This train will run on biofuel in June to expand the range of green technological solutionsconfides Fabiens Pons, deputy director of TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine operations.
