Representatives of AFD 57 took part in a round table on diabetes in Metz, organized with the University of Lorraine, with the aim of sharing with the general public their experiences with diabetes on a daily basis.

Indeed, on April 5, Jean-Marc Nobis Peron, former president of AFD 57 Metz, Brigitte Jérôme, vice-president of AFD 57 Metz and Stéphane Chivot, president of AFD 57 Metz, had the opportunity to address a curious audience interested in this chronic illness and its impact on daily life.

In order to complete this round table, Dr Lherman, diabetologist at the Schuman hospital in Metz, and Coline Hehn, health psychologist at the French Federation of Diabetes, had the opportunity to provide medical but also psychological elements on the living with diabetes on a daily basis.

This round table, which lasted 1h30, was an opportunity to address this pathology in all its forms, in constant interaction with the public and their questions. Various subjects were discussed to understand diabetes such as its definition, its symptoms, medical devices, old and modern, the complications that can emerge, the history of this pathology or even everyday life and the necessary adaptation of the share of people with diabetes.

This intervention is part of a scientific mediation plan organized by the University of Lorraine as part of Health Month. New collaborations are being developed to consolidate this link and reach as many people as possible through prevention.
