A ministerial visit of first importance to the Chantiers de l’Atlantique. Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy and Roland Lescure, Minister Delegate for Industry and Energy, are traveling this Thursday, May 2 to Saint-Nazaire to talk about offshore wind power. The choice of Saint -Nazaire is not insignificant, since it is off its coast that the at full capacity the first French offshore wind farm.

National announcements for offshore wind power

The two ministers will therefore attend the departure of the electrical substation of the future Yeu-Noirmoutier park in Vendée. A station which will be responsible for collecting electricity from 62 offshore wind turbines. The commissioning of the park is planned for next year, in 2025. Once commissioned, it will supply 800,000 people with electricity.

The contract for future offshore wind farms in Oleron and Normandy has been signed, two large parks 60 kilometers from the coast. This represents a contract worth 4.5 billion euros for Chantiers de l’Atlantique.
