A breakdown paralyzed the northern branch of the RER C, between the 16th arrondissement of Paris and Pontoise (Val-d’Oise), Thursday May 2, 2024 morning.
Traffic also disrupted towards Choisy-le-Roi
Reported in the Avenue-Henri-Martin sector in Paris at 6:47 a.m., the incident brought traffic to a lasting halt.
From 7:53 a.m., traffic was interrupted between Pontoise and Champ-de-Mars (16th), in both directions of traffic. The reason ? A breakdown of installations of the network manager.
The resumption time, first set at 8:15 a.m., was then postponed several times. At 9:26 a.m., the line’s X account added that traffic was also disrupted “between avenue-Henri-Martin and Choisy-le-Roi (Val-de-Marne), in both directions of traffic”.
Shortly before 10 a.m., and after diagnosis, specialized teams restored power supply in the Avenue-Henri-Martin sector.
At 10 a.m., the line finally announced that traffic would “gradually resume between Pontoise and Avenue-Henri-Martin”, but that it remained “interrupted from Choisy-le-Roi towards Massy-Palaiseau, several trains having been strongly impacted by this incident and not being able to travel.
