La Chaux-de-Fonds, a candidate city to become the first Swiss Cultural Capital in 2027, has just reached an important milestone. The jury, chaired by Daniel Rossellat, approved the project, subject to reliable financing yet to be proven.

“This renowned jury clearly understood the qualities of the candidate city and the attractiveness of the project and provided us with multiple avenues to strengthen it. It is rare in Switzerland to be able to count on such enriching collaboration,” declared Jean Studer on Thursday. , new president of the La Chaux-de-Fonds Swiss Cultural Capital association (CCS2300).

The national jury was convinced by the architecture and the integral and inclusive approach. He noted that the project fits “perfectly into the dynamic of transformation that the city will experience in the coming years”. In addition, it demonstrates the strong desire to associate with cultural actors and events outside the region to create “a real national enthusiasm”.
