Bordeaux celebrates wine, heading towards the 2024 edition
A summer event dear to the hearts of Bordeaux residents and visitors from France and elsewhere, the wine tourism festival Bordeaux Wine Festival returns from June 27 to 30, 2024 on the quays of Garonne and from June 20 during the Avant-Premières in restaurants, cellars and cultural places in the Bordeaux metropolis.
This friendly event brings together winegrowers and merchants from the region and the general public around tastings of Bordeaux and New Aquitaine wines, cultural events and a local catering offer. Building on the success encountered during the 2023 edition, a drone show will light up the Bordeaux sky, and the eyes of the visitors who had all applauded the performance! Beautiful sailboats will point to the tips of their masts and will be open to visitors. Faithful to the destination’s commitment to sustainable tourism and events, the Festival integrates an eco-responsible and human organizationand has been ISO 20121 certified for 2 years.
Large sailing ships open to visitors
True symbols of the Bordeaux Wine Festival, the sailboats bear witness to the long wine-growing history of the region, and the key role played in spreading and making Bordeaux wines known throughout the world. Symbols of daydreams, travel, and anecdotes, four historic and traditional ships will be docked on the quays during the Festival: the Belem, the Français, the Morgenster, as well as the Mutin, a French Navy boat.
Accessible to the visit, by reservation (limited places)! More information on www.bordeaux-fete-le-vin.com
A celebration concerned about its environmental impact
Bordeaux Fête le Vin has been labeled ISO 20121 for 3 years, a certification awarded to events which have chosen to opt for sustainable management. And its social and environmental commitments bear fruit year after year! So the Waste production was considerably reduced during the 2023 edition, with -33% compared to the 2022 edition. Among the 52.4 tonnes of waste generated by the stands, operations, assembly, dismantling and the public last year, more than 62% was reusable. The strategy of reducing, recycling and recovering waste is at the heart of the organization of the Festival and will be further intensified this year.
